Finally some good news! After a two week trial period at The Leith Agency, we have been offered a three month placement with a view to being extended to a year. This is a huge relief after several weeks of Jeremy Kyle and Judge Judy, especially with the current state of the economy and the chances of employment at the moment. We very much look forward to starting in Edinburgh in the first week of January.

A year long placement though? Shouldn't that be an actual job surely? That's a long time to be on placement at one agency without promise of a job. Hope they're paying you ok to be there for that long!
Yeh they're looking to make it permanent after a year, but it's a placement contract so that if it isn't working out after say 6 months then we'll part company without any legal issues etc.. they are paying us well, and to be honest i think it's a pretty good offer looking at the climate at the moment!
